Course DescriptionThis course deals with community interpreting with special emphasis on work manners and ethics. Besides consecutive, simultaneous, and sight interpreting, work manners and ethics will also receive particular emphasis. Students will practice interpreting through various scenarios simulating legal, medical, and educational settings. They will be able to enhance their subject-specific terminology acquisition skills through various assignments.

6th Week Conference Interpreting in Health Care Services and Interpreting Services
7th Week Role play about Hospital Interpreting
8th Week Midterm Exam
9th Week Community Interpreting in legal field and role play about Court Interpreting
10th Week Interpreting Practice: Refugee Interpreting
11th Week Interpreting Practice: Police Investigation
