Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

Will gain information on historical pathyways of ğharmacy and drugs, will learn tthe rules and the education on this area in recent times and in the past.
Will learn the historical developments of the different departments in pharmacy education and their contribution to medicine and pharmacy
Will learn and understand the importance of the ethical rules in pharmaceutical deontology and health ethics in health studies.

Course Description

Starting from the primitive societies the historical evolution of pharmacy and pharmaceutics is given briefly. The changes in pharmacy applications during Middle age, before and after Ottoman periods are also explained. Milestones in scientific pharmacy in Turkiye starting with the foundations of Faculty of Pharmacies as well as actualization of the rules, regulations and professional associations are given.The foundation of the disciplines in the Faculties and their missions in undergraduate and graduate education are introduced. The rules and the importance of medical ethics and deontology are emphasized.
