| Course Description | Relational sociology, differs considerably from Classical and Contemporary sociological theories with the desire ?not to be essentialist ?, ?reject dichotomies?,? being process oriented ?, focus on everyday life?, handle ?time and space? as well as ?macro and micro together ?, ?develop new concepts? . However, it is not always possible to achieve these goals easily. For example, while being process-oriented makes it extremely easy to comprehend and explain the phenomenon examined, it is always difficult to reach data that we can reliably analyse the previous stages of the phenomenon. Achieving an analysis of time and space together means defeating our classical conditioning. Moreover, there are many new virtual spaces such as ethno-space, financial space, techno-space, media-space and mental space. Likewise, quantitative surveys and qualitative researches such as Grounded Theory in harmony with relational sociology requires experience and knowledge about ?Mixed Design? research. By taking in to consideration that different relational sociologies are also possible, the main objective of this course will be , to discuss the advantages and difficulties of the relational sociology as well as the ?uncertainty? studies with the combination of theory and practice After the main features and principles of relational sociology taught at the level of knowledge to students , the relational sociological studies carried out in the World and Turkey will be reviewed to gain critical evaluation skills. The exams of the course will be compatible with the characteristics of the student group who chose the course. |
