Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Students will be able to perform vector algebra operations and define the concepts of force and moment.
  2. Students will be able to carry out basic strength of materials calculations (tension, compression, torsion, and bending). They will be able to perform centroid calculations and analyze the strength of welded joints.
  3. Students will be able to draw free-body diagrams of particles and rigid bodies in equilibrium, formulate equilibrium equations, and solve them.
Mode of DeliveryFace to face
PrerequisitesNo
Recommended Optional Programme ComponentsNone
Course DescriptionThis course aims to teach the fundamental principles of statics and strength of materials required for Welding Technician. By learning force equilibrium, internal forces, and basic strength calculations, students will be able to evaluate the safety of welded structures and apply this knowledge in practice.
