Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Classify and explain fusion welding and solid-state welding methods and the basic equipment used in these methods.
  2. Explain the purpose of preheating and post-weld heat treatments (such as stress relief annealing) applied in welded joints, and describe their fundamental effects on the weld region (weld metal - HAZ - base material).
  3. Compare different welding methods in terms of their working principles, application areas, advantages, and limitations.
Mode of DeliveryFace to face
PrerequisitesNo
Recommended Optional Programme ComponentsNone
Course DescriptionIn this course, students will explain the basic principles of the source method, describe its equipment and types. They will be able to understand the application areas and advantages/disadvantages of the methods.
