Course Description

Wave motion, wave equation and its solutions. Acoustic intensity and acoustic impedance. Sound reflection, transmission and transmission loss. Sound perception and noise. Mechanism of hearing. Measurement of noise. Basic principles of noise control. Noise source identification, noise control at the source, at the path and at the receiver. Vibrations and noise.

8^th Week	Sound and noise insulation in indoor and outdoor spaces, sound comfort
9^th Week	Determination of the source of noise. Kontrol of noise at the source, in transit and the receiver
10^th Week	Environmental noise pollution. Acoustic cooling and innovative applications. Acoustics in medicine.
11^th Week	Noise control in manufacturing plants
12^th Week	Noise control standards in worker's health (OSHA Standards)
13^th Week	Noise and noise standards in transportation systems
14^th Week	Acoustic and vibration based predictive maintenance
