| Course Description | The course discusses drug-induced changes in the functioning of the nervous system. Cellular and molecular actions of drugs on neural cells and synaptic transmission are covered in the course. It also includes specific diseases of the nervous system and their treatment. Finally an overview of the recent advances and techniques used for the study of neuropharmacology are explained. Upon completion of the course, the students are expected to have an understanding of the drugs that effect the nervous system and the influence of these drugs at the molecular, cellular and brain-level. |
