Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Relates Fire Safety and architectural knowledge with an interdisciplinary approach.
  2. They understand that fire is a huge disaster that causes loss of life and property in buildings, and they gain the ability to design with the awareness of architects' responsibilities in this regard.
  3. Gains the ability to produce rational solutions in design by comparing legislation.
  4. Improves the ability to check the suitability of escape routes using the modeling method.
  5. Develop thinking, researching and writing skills on fire safety.
Mode of DeliveryFace to face

Recommended Optional Programme Components
Course DescriptionThis course deals with the phenomenon of fire, fire safety, precautions to be taken to prevent fires, architectural solutions that will enable people to evacuate safely from buildings after a fire breaks out; It discusses regulations, human behaviour, strategies for country studies, legal regulations and planning. The resulting architectural solution suggestions are determined through advanced simulation programs, and the architectural solutions required to take additional precautions in existing buildings are discussed during architectural education, as well as how appropriate buildings should be designed in terms of fire safety in new buildings.
