At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Develop a theoretical and critical perspective on poetry.
  2. Analyze multi layered structure of poetic language by using close reading.
  3. Recognize major poets and their poetics, as well as the historical development of Turkish poetry.
  4. Interpret Turkish poetry with a text-based approach.

Course DescriptionThis course focuses on the history and evolution of Turkish poetry, major poets, and their poetics. In addition,, poetic dictions will be analyzed in order to discover the underlying meaning by close readings of poetry.
