| Course Description | This course focuses mainly on political philosophy. In general, political philosophy courses examine the essentially contested concepts like equality, freedom, authority, justice, property and democracy and how they are related to one another. This course, however, follows a different path and has a relatively narrow focus. Students will read Carl Schmitt, Giorgi Agamben and Chantal Mouffe and critically analyze their understanding of the political, politics, biopolitical and violence, among others. |
