Course Description

This course covers the historical development of ceramics, basic forming techniques, material knowledge, surface and glaze applications, cultural heritage connections, and current approaches in contemporary ceramic art. Students complete hands-on studio projects while online components include digital design tasks, visual analysis, and conceptual discussions.

3^rd Week	Fundamental shaping techniques I: pinch, slab, and coil.
4^th Week	Shaping techniques II: assembly, drying.
5^th Week	Design processes, sketching.
6^th Week	Surface textures: scraping, printing, and slip.
7^th Week	Biscuit firing and kiln technology.
8^th Week	Homework/Project Control
9^th Week	Glaze theory and applications.
10^th Week	Traditional Turkish ceramics.
11^th Week	Contemporary ceramic art.
12^th Week	Glazing and firing practices.
