Course DescriptionWorld literature consists of a corpus of works that circulate beyond national borders and thus reach a universal readership. This course aims to emphasise the historical transformation of the concept of world literature, and then discuss how to handle this rich corpus which is distant both temporally and culturally. In addition, the formation of the literary canon is questioned and the literary production of a vast geography covering many different countries is examined.
