Learning Outcomes

At the end of this course, the students;

  1. Have basic knowledge on modeling of cell, tissue and organs.
  2. Learn to ability of solving some problems on these models and simulate it in computer.
  3. Research a physiological system model.
Mode of DeliveryFace to face
PrerequisitesNo
Recommended Optional Programme ComponentsNone
Course DescriptionAdvanced course focusing on mathematical modeling and simulation of nerve cells, networks of nerve cells and other physiological and biochemical structures and processes. Kinetics of enzymes and drugs, dynamics of drugs. Methods for modeling of cellular processes and cell signals in other systems and organisms (pancreas, blood, yeast cells). The functional organization of the nervous system and related models and theories for perception, memory, selection of behavior and movement. The module will investigate a range of biological problems using modern mathematical tools. The aim is to indicate the applicability of mathematics to recent work in the life sciences.
